Role: Data Analyst Note: DMV locals, role is hybrid in Fairfax, VA. non-locals, it can be remote, but occasional travel to Fairfax, VA is required! ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, exceptional problem-solving skills, and a passion for uncovering actionable insights from complex datasets. As a Data Analyst, the candidate will play a crucial role in transforming data into meaningful information that drives decision-making processes across various departments. The ability to effectively communicate findings and collaborate with cross-functional teams will be crucial to their success in this role. Looking for a Strong Java, Micro-services, Unix scripting and Oracle SQL L3/L4 candidate with experience in Python/SQL/UNIX Shell Scripting Developer also is a plus. Your future duties and responsibilities • Gather data from various sources, such as databases, APIs, or files, ensuring data quality and completeness. • Prepare data for analysis by cleaning, filtering, and transforming it into a usable format, ensuring accuracy and consistency. • Apply statistical and analytical techniques to interpret data, identify trends, patterns, and relationships to uncover insights that can support decision-making. • Create reports, dashboards, and data visualizations (such as charts, graphs, and plots) to present findings and communicate insights effectively to stakeholders. • Use data-driven approaches to solve complex business problems, optimize processes, and improve efficiency. • Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques, and provide ongoing reports. • Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics, and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality. • Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems. • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets. • Filter and clean data by reviewing reports, and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems. • Work closely with management to prioritize business and information needs. • Locate and define new process improvement opportunities. Required qualifications to be successful in this role • Strong Data Analyst knowledge is required • Strong Python knowledge is required • Windows OS level and Unix scripting knowledge required • Oracle Database knowledge is required • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related IT field
