Role description
Role: MIS / Data Analyst Location: Mountain View, CA (Hybrid) Job Type: Long term contract (12+ months) Pay rate: $40/hr W2 All Inclusive About the Role We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical MIS Analyst to support reporting, data analysis, and insights generation across Google Cloud’s operational and business functions. The ideal candidate will leverage Google Cloud tools, BI platforms, and automation techniques to design and deliver scalable dashboards, performance reports, and business intelligence solutions that enable data-driven decisions. Key Responsibilities β€’ Collect, validate, and structure large volumes of data from multiple systems (internal databases, Google Cloud, and business applications). β€’ Develop and maintain automated dashboards and MIS reports using Google Cloud tools such as BigQuery, Looker Studio, and Sheets. β€’ Create and manage SQL queries to extract and transform data for analysis. β€’ Partner with business, operations, and engineering teams to understand reporting requirements and translate them into scalable data solutions. β€’ Conduct trend, variance, and root cause analyses across KPIs such as productivity, utilization, financials, and operational metrics. β€’ Automate manual reporting workflows using Google Cloud functions, scripts, or connectors. β€’ Ensure data integrity, consistency, and security across systems and reports. β€’ Provide ad hoc data analysis and performance insights to leadership and cross-functional stakeholders. Required Skills & Experience β€’ Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Statistics, or a related field. β€’ 3–6 years of experience as an MIS Analyst / Reporting Analyst / Business Intelligence Analyst. β€’ Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) components: β€’ BigQuery for querying and managing large datasets β€’ Looker / Looker Studio (Data Studio) for BI visualization β€’ Google Sheets / Apps Script for automation β€’ Strong command of SQL (mandatory). β€’ Advanced Excel and Google Sheets (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, Power Query). β€’ Experience in data cleaning, validation, and transformation. β€’ Familiarity with APIs and data connectors (e.g., integrating data from CRM, ERP, or ATS systems). β€’ Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail. β€’ Excellent communication and presentation skills for sharing insights with non-technical stakeholders. Preferred Skills β€’ Exposure to Python or R for automation or advanced analytics. β€’ Experience with ETL tools (e.g., Dataform, Cloud Data Fusion, or similar). β€’ Prior experience in a cloud / SaaS / tech organization or a Google Cloud-related business function. β€’ Understanding of KPI frameworks and performance management processes.
