Key Responsibilities
• Develop and manage comprehensive credit policies aligned with strategic objectives and risk appetite.
• Design and implement optimization-driven decision strategies using techniques such as Mixed Integer Programming (MIP), constraint programming, heuristic search, and simulation-based modeling.
• Analyze trade-offs between credit risk and profitability to inform approval strategies, credit limits, and pricing decisions.
• Partner with cross-functional teams—including product, risk, and data science—to integrate business constraints and objectives into policy frameworks.
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and industry standards.
• Define and track metrics to monitor policy effectiveness and performance.
Requirements
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 2+ years of industry experience in Decision Science, Optimization, Data Science, or related areas.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL (2+ years of experience).
• Hands-on experience with optimization libraries such as Pyomo, PuLP, Gurobi, CPLEX, or Google OR-Tools.
• Proven ability to analyze and balance trade-offs between growth, revenue, loss rates, and capital utilization in credit or lending contexts.
• Experience in developing underwriting, pricing, or credit limit assignment strategies using optimization and simulation methods.
• Familiarity with FCRA-compliant decisioning frameworks and their interaction with data, models, and business constraints.
• Experience working with credit bureau data (TransUnion, Experian, Equifax) and/or tax data in policy development.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to quickly gain insights from large and complex datasets.
