Data Analyst

Job Description: Optomi, in partnership with a finance company, is seeking a Data Analyst to support the modernization of our reporting and data processes. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with complex, Excel-based datasets and transforming them into structured, scalable solutions. Job Qualifications: • Experience with dbt or similar data transformation tools • Experience using Python (Pandas) for data manipulation • Strong proficiency in SQL • Advanced Excel skills, including experience working with large, complex workbooks • Experience analyzing and transforming data from multiple sources • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Ability to gather and translate business requirements into data solutions • Strong communication skills and ability to work with non-technical stakeholders Job Responsibilities: • Work directly with stakeholders to understand the purpose, logic, and business use of complex Excel-based reports • Analyze and deconstruct large Excel workbooks that consolidate data from multiple sources • Transform raw and unstructured data into clean, structured datasets for reporting • Write SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and organize data into usable formats • Use dbt to help build and maintain data models for reporting • Leverage Python (Pandas) as needed for data cleaning, transformation, and analysis • Support the transition from manual Excel processes to automated, scalable data workflows • Validate data accuracy and ensure consistency across reporting outputs • Collaborate with data engineers and business teams to improve data accessibility and usability
