Contract Opportunity: Data Analyst & Modeller (Teradata Platform)
Location: Glasgow (Hybrid, 2–3 days onsite)
Duration: Initial 3 month contract
Rate: £430/day (Inside IR35)
Clearance: Must be eligible for BPSS
We’re looking for a Data Analyst & Modeller to join a large-scale data transformation programme, working on one of the most complex Teradata environments in the UK. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on solving intricate data challenges, uncovering insights through SQL, and building robust data models that drive smarter business decisions. You’ll play a key role in discovery and analysis activities, tracing data lineage, evaluating processes, and shaping the foundation for scalable, high-quality data models.
What You’ll Do
• Conduct deep-dive discovery analysis across existing data processes and structures.
• Perform data lineage and usage analysis to support accurate mapping and future-state design.
• Use Teradata SQL and BTEQ scripts to interrogate datasets, uncover trends, and validate assumptions.
• Partner with business and technical stakeholders to translate data needs into actionable designs.
• Document findings, lineage flows, and key insights with precision and clarity.
• Develop and refine data models that align with business goals and technical standards.
• Identify and remediate data quality issues, inconsistencies, and performance gaps.
What You’ll Bring
• Proven hands-on experience with Teradata SQL and BTEQ.
• Strong knowledge of data lineage, mapping, and process evaluation.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to synthesize complex data relationships.
• Solid understanding of data architecture principles.
• Background in large-scale data environments and cross-functional collaboration.
• Excellent documentation and stakeholder communication skills.
Bonus Points For
• Experience within financial services, consulting, or regulated industries.
• Familiarity with data governance frameworks or metadata management tools.
• Knowledge of other platforms like Snowflake, Oracle, or BigQuery.
