The Company
A financial institution focused on modernizing its data practices. Our client is expanding its small but collaborative data team to drive strategic decisions through advanced analytics and reporting.
Role and Responsibilities
β’ Lead cross-functional projects to uncover insights using advanced data modeling and analysis techniques, driving strategic decisions and optimization opportunities.
β’ Build and maintain data models, reporting systems, dashboards, and performance metrics to support key business decisions.
β’ Gather and clean data from various sources, ensuring high data quality and integrity.
β’ Use statistical methods to identify patterns, trends, correlations, and anomalies in financial data.
β’ Collaborate with departments like technology, compliance, and business units to deliver actionable recommendations.
β’ Design and maintain reporting platforms and intelligence systems to analyze financial portfolios.
β’ Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure organizational performance.
β’ Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal risk controls, including reporting suspicious activities per policy.
β’ Document routine data processes (e.g., data mining, dictionaries) to streamline operations.
Job Requirements
β’ Experience: Minimum 3 years in financial services (e.g., banking, lending, wealth management) and 5 years in analytical roles.
β’ Technical Skills:
β’ Proficiency in SQL (primary tool) for querying relational databases.
β’ Experience with business intelligence tools like Power BI (core) or Tableau (secondary).
β’ Familiarity with cloud-based data warehouses (e.g., extracting and working with data, not infrastructure management).
β’ Knowledge of data modeling and automation; Python is a plus but not required.
β’ Domain Knowledge: Strong understanding of financial services processes (e.g., loans, deposits, investments) and regulations (e.g., AML, KYC, OFAC).
β’ Soft Skills:
β’ Ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable business recommendations.
β’ Strong communication skills to present findings to leadership, technical teams, and business units.
β’ Problem-solving skills to resolve issues independently in a fast-paced environment.
β’ Education: Bachelorβs degree in computer science, statistics, data management, or a related field.
β’ Nice-to-Have: Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
β’ Work Environment: Ability to work onsite 5 days per week.
