Job Summary:
BCD Travel is a market leader in travel management, helping people and companies travel smart. They are seeking a Data Analyst to provide data and analytics support on client consulting assignments in business travel optimization for hospitality accounts, focusing on data analysis, reporting, and collaboration with consultants.
Responsibilities:
β’ Develop, maintain and optimize data and business intelligence products, such as reports and dashboards by leveraging internal standards
β’ Execute diverse data and analytics projects, delivering tailored support for specific customer accounts
β’ Address ad-hoc and custom data and reporting requests from internal stakeholders with precision and efficiency
β’ Collaborate with consultants to brainstorm and prioritize business and information needs for clients
β’ Gather, process, and analyze data to generate actionable insights that effectively support business objectives
β’ Perform data quality checks, investigate, and fix data and reporting issues to ensure data quality
β’ Align with different project teams globally around strategies, key objectives, and success metrics, always maintaining clear communication and ensuring on-time completion
β’ Analyze and leverage data, analytics, current and impending hotel spend management & statistical techniques, tools, and opportunities to deliver recommendations to consultants
β’ Participate in the development and training of more junior colleagues by supporting and coaching them
β’ Participate in the development of data and analytics best practices, as well as data governance and data quality management initiatives
Qualifications:
Required:
β’ Bachelorβs degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Economics, Data and Analytics and/or Hotel Industry procurement
β’ Prior work experience as a Data or Business Analyst with a track record of manipulating, and extracting value from datasets
β’ Proficiency in using Microsoft suite of software products, particularly Excel (including report generation, data connection opportunities and pivot tables), Word, and PowerPoint
β’ Working understanding of relational databases and using SQL and commands to access / manipulate the data
β’ Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to distill complex issues and analyses
β’ Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
β’ Critical thinking and curiosity to learn more about travel industry and data trends
β’ Interest in working with diverse, cross functional international teams
Preferred:
β’ Experience with the following would be a plus: hotel pricing/financial analysis, revenue management, forecasting and accounting (or other)
β’ Experience with different data and analytics tools such as AWS technologies, Dbeaver, Quicksight, Tableau, and Python is a plus
β’ Experience with various GDS, hotel program management and hotel sales is a plus
β’ Experience in data governance and data quality management is a plus
