About the Role
An established and growing financial services organisation is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented BI Data Analyst to join its data team. The successful candidate will play a key role in transforming complex data into actionable insights to support strategic decision-making, enhance operational efficiency, and meet regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI
• Write efficient and scalable queries using SQL to extract, transform, and analyse large datasets
• Perform advanced data analysis and automation using Python
• Collaborate with stakeholders across finance, risk, and operations to understand data requirements and deliver insights
• Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across reporting platforms
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications and data solutions
• Provide ad-hoc analysis and deliver data-driven recommendations
Key Skills & Experience
• Strong hands-on experience with Power BI (data modelling, DAX, and visualisation best practices)
• Advanced proficiency in SQL (including query optimisation, joins, and stored procedures)
• Experience using Python for data analysis (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, data pipelines)
• Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes
• Experience working with financial data or within the financial services sector is highly desirable
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present insights to non-technical stakeholders
