Role description
Opportunity: Data Analyst - Join a Team Driving Real Impact If you're a Data Analyst who loves turning messy, complex information into clear, valuable insights and you want a role where your work genuinely shapes business decisions this is a great fit. You'll join a central data team within capital markets that partners closely with a dynamic front-office business. Think of this role as the crucial connector between business experts and technology specialists. You'll work with stakeholders across the organisation to define, improve, and elevate data assets, ensuring they flow smoothly into the company's data platform and are ready for high-value BI and AI use cases. This is a role for someone who enjoys ownership, variety, and the chance to elevate how data is understood and used across an entire organisation. What You'll Be Doing • Diving into structured and unstructured datasets, mapping how data moves and how it's used. • Identifying the right datasets to bring into the data platform and helping shape data models and governance standards. • Improving data quality through smart validation, automation, and proactive problem-solving. • Maintaining and shaping the organisation's central data catalogue. • Creating BI dashboards and visualisations that cut through complexity and support decision-makers. • Taking full ownership of data issues seeing them through to resolution. • Contributing ideas that improve processes, scalability, and efficiency. • Staying aware of industry trends and using them to enhance how the organisation works with data. Skills That Will Help You Thrive Essential: • Strong BI development experience (e.g., Power BI) and confidence in data modelling (Kimball or similar). • Excellent SQL skills (T-SQL, PL/SQL). • Experience with ETL/ELT tooling and scripting in Python or PowerShell. • Understanding of data warehousing concepts, data pipelines, and Git-based version control. • Exposure to Agile delivery environments. Nice to Have: • Experience with modern data engineering platforms (e.g., Databricks), cloud data tools, or both relational and NoSQL databases. • Background in regulated or highly controlled industries. What Makes This Role Special • You'll have direct influence over how data is structured, governed, and used. • You'll work closely with decision-makers, not buried in a back-office team. • You'll see the impact of your work quickly on reporting efficiency, analytical capabilities, and business strategy. • You'll be joining a collaborative, curious team that values innovation and clear communication. • You'll have room to grow your skills in BI, data engineering, governance, and cloud technologies.
