We are a leading digital music distribution and publishing company headquartered in Brooklyn, NY, supporting a global roster of artists and creators. Our analytics function plays a critical role in revenue reporting, performance tracking, and operational insight as the business continues to scale.
Role Overview
We are seeking a Power BI / Tableau Developer for a contract-based project engagement. The organization is actively transitioning reporting from Tableau to Power BI, and this role will support that migration while primarily focusing on building new Power BI dashboards. The engagement duration may range from 1 to 12 months depending on performance, project scope, and business needs.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports for business stakeholders
• Support the migration of existing Tableau reports to Power BI, including optimization and redesign where appropriate
• Partner with teams across finance, operations, product, and marketing to gather and refine reporting requirements
• Translate complex datasets into clear, intuitive visualizations and actionable insights
• Build and optimize Power BI data models, measures, and queries for performance and scalability
• Write and maintain SQL queries against relational data sources
• Collaborate with data engineering and analytics teams on data quality and upstream dependencies
• Identify trends, anomalies, and key drivers to support business decision-making
• Create and maintain documentation for dashboards, data definitions, and reporting logic
• Troubleshoot and resolve reporting or data-related issues in a timely manner
Qualifications
• Strong hands-on experience building dashboards and reports in Power BI
• Experience working with Tableau, including supporting or contributing to BI migrations
• Advanced SQL skills and comfort working with complex datasets
• Solid understanding of data modeling and BI performance best practices
• Experience working directly with non-technical business stakeholders
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Experience in music, media, or digital content environments is a plus
