Role description
JOB TITLE: Data Analyst (EPM/PPM & Finance)
LOCATION: Hybrid Employment / MN based
EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Contract
ABOUT THE ROLE
Our client is reworking major parts of their performance and project management ecosystem and needs a hands-on data analyst (a do‑er, not an architect) to establish the baseline data foundation that future maturity will build on. You’ll partner closely with Strategy & Operations and a Solution Architect to document current-state business/data models, map data flows, and create stand‑alone, source‑of‑truth documentation ahead of a large release.
DAY TO DAY
• Baseline the data landscape
• Build stand-alone business and data models (not just embedded in design docs).
• Create data flow diagrams (DFDs) and entity relationship diagrams (ERDs) for core EPM/PPM processes.
• Produce source-to-target mappings, system-of-record definitions, and data lineage.
• Compile a data dictionary/metadata catalog and naming standards.
• Stabilize and de-risk upcoming releases
• Extract and consolidate all data-specific documentation tied to releases over the next 6 months.
• Identify gaps, inconsistencies, and break/fix items; escalate and track to closure.
• Validate assumptions with SMEs; lock down baselines before analytics/dashboard work begins.
• Coordinate across functional and technical teams
• Work within a functional-facing group to capture requirements and current state.
• Translate business needs into concrete, reusable data documentation assets.
• Maintain light metrics on progress and quality; enable handoffs and knowledge transfer.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• 4–6 years of professional experience in data analysis / data modeling / data documentation.
• Demonstrated experience building DFDs, ERDs, source-to-target maps, and data dictionaries.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills; solid SQL for validation and profiling.
• Experience with EPM/PPM data and processes; familiarity with Oracle (on‑prem → Cloud) and Loomis PPM.
• Proven ability to work with minimal direction, prioritize a “laundry list,” and deliver crisp documentation in a dynamic environment.
• Excellent communication skills with business and technical stakeholders.
Brooksource provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, age, sex, citizenship, disability, genetic information, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, amnesty or status as a covered veteran in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws
