Role description
Data Analyst Location: Oklahoma City, OK (onsite 5 days/week) Industry: Transportation / Infrastructure Contract: 6 month with extension Pay: $37-40/hr Position available: Now-July 10 Brooksource is seeking a Data /Business Analyst to support a leading organization within the transportation and infrastructure industry. This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of data analysis, SQL development, and business process improvement. You’ll work with complex datasets and systems to uncover data integrity issues, identify root causes, and deliver insights that drive business decisions. This is a great opportunity for a self-starter who enjoys digging into data, learning new systems, and partnering with stakeholders to improve reporting accuracy and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities • Analyze large and complex data sets to identify trends, anomalies, and data integrity issues. • Investigate root causes and provide actionable recommendations to improve data quality. • Write, modify, and optimize SQL queries and stored procedures to support reporting needs. • Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and ad hoc analyses for business stakeholders. • Review existing code, reports, and performance metrics to identify and resolve defects. • Document business processes, workflows, and system behaviors. • Partner with stakeholders to identify and implement process improvement opportunities. • Conduct data quality assessments and ensure accuracy across systems. • Learn and support internal systems, workflows, and backend SQL procedures. Required Qualifications: • 3+ years of experience as a Data Analyst or Business Analyst. • 2+ years of hands-on experience with SQL development (queries, functions, stored procedures). • Strong understanding of data modeling, database design, and data mining techniques. • Experience documenting business processes and workflows. • Proficiency with tools such as: Microsoft SQL Server / SSMS, Power BI or similar reporting tools, Data formats such as XML and JSON. • Strong analytical mindset with attention to data accuracy and detail. • Ability to translate data findings into clear, actionable insights. • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams. Preferred Qualifications: • Experience working with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), especially dashboards. • Exposure to Six Sigma or process improvement methodologies. • Background in software development.
