Role description
Title/Level: Data Analyst / Report Writer 3
Location: 100% Remote (Work location must be within the United States)
Work Type: Telework

About the Role
We are seeking a Data Analyst to support integrated district and program initiatives for one of the U.S. education departments. This role focuses on analyzing complex datasets, identifying patterns and redundancies, and translating findings into clear, actionable insights that inform planning, compliance, and performance monitoring.
Youβll work closely with policy, program, and operational stakeholdersβmany of whom are non-technicalβso strong communication and data storytelling skills are essential.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Analyze data from multiple sources and translate findings into practical recommendations
β’ Pull, combine, and analyze data using Excel and database tools
β’ Build or support low-code solutions (e.g., Power Platform or similar) to display data and collect inputs
β’ Identify patterns, gaps, redundancies, and duplication across datasets, plans, or reporting requirements
β’ Develop dashboards, reports, and visualizations to support decision-making
β’ Clearly communicate data insights to non-technical audiences
β’ Work independently, manage tasks asynchronously, and meet deadlines in a remote environment
β’ Support goal-setting, planning, and performance monitoring initiatives using data
Required Qualifications
β’ 8+ years of experience in data analytics and data storytelling
β’ 8+ years of experience working with low-code tools or platforms
β’ 5+ years of strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel / Office
β’ 3+ years of experience with data visualization tools (Power BI)
β’ Proven ability to synthesize information across datasets, policies, or requirements
β’ Strong written and verbal communication skills
β’ Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment
Preferred Qualifications
β’ Experience working with education, government, or state agencies
β’ Experience with statutory, compliance, or policy-related data
β’ Experience identifying and reducing duplication across systems or reporting processes
β’ Familiarity with automated data collection tools
β’ Experience supporting planning, performance monitoring, or goal-tracking initiatives
β’ Tools experience:
β’ Qualtrics (1+ year preferred)
β’ Smartsheet (1+ year preferred)
