Role description
Title: Data Analytics Analyst
Location: Birmingham, Alabama, United States (Hybrid)
What You’ll Do
• Build clear, compelling Power BI dashboards and reports that make actionable insights visible and speed up decision-making.
• Analyze operational and business data to uncover trends, patterns, and actionable insights.
• Detect anomalies and inconsistencies, validate data quality, and partner with teams to resolve root causes.
• Translate business questions into analytical approaches, asking great questions, forming hypotheses, and testing them with data.
• Communicate findings to teammates, stakeholders, internal customers, and leadership—tailoring the message to the audience.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to define metrics, streamline reporting, and identify out-of-the-box solutions to real problems.
What You Bring
• Strong Power BI skills - build and maintain dashboards, connect to data sources, manage refreshes, and publish/share content with appropriate access controls.
• Strong Excel skills – clean, organize, and maintain tables to support analysis.
• A passion for solving problems, finding creative, practical solutions, and continuously improving how work gets done.
• Strong ability to identify patterns, spot inconsistencies, and explain what they mean in plain language.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting insights and recommendations.
• Ability to partner effectively across teams and levels – from frontline operators to leadership.
• High ownership mindset, curiosity, and the persistence to follow the data to the truth.
Nice to Have
• Hands-on familiarity with Databricks—running notebooks/jobs, working with tables, visualizations, and troubleshooting common refresh/job issues (a plus).
• Experience creating Power Apps, Power Automate flows, and Copilot agents to streamline work (a plus).
• Experience working in fast-paced, cross-functional environments where priorities shift and impact matters.
