Fully Remote (UK)
Strong Chance of Extension or Permanent Offer
An emerging UK-based Data Consultancy are delivering a high-impact reporting transformation programme for a major client. As part of this, they’re looking to bring on a technically focused Data Analyst for a 12-month fixed-term period, with the view to a permanent role.
This role is well suited to someone who’s comfortable working with complex datasets, legacy reports, and data platforms - and enjoys building structured, repeatable logic that enables better reporting downstream.
The Role
You’ll join a collaborative delivery team working on the rebuild of business-critical finance reports, helping migrate legacy logic into a new Power BI environment. Your focus will be on understanding the data behind existing reports, applying business rules, validating data quality, and clearly documenting the output.
Key responsibilities:
• Analyse existing reports (primarily Excel-based) to identify data sources, logic and usage
• Trace data lineage and assess whether required data is available in the platform
• Write and run SQL queries to test assumptions, profile data, and validate accuracy
• Perform data profiling and quality assessments to determine fitness for use
• Collaborate with BAs, Engineers, Testers and Power BI developers to support report rebuilds
• Create supporting documentation such as data dictionaries and source-to-target mappings
• Apply business logic consistently, and help shape how reporting is defined and governed going forward
Requirements
We’re looking for someone with a strong technical base and a structured, delivery-minded approach.
Essential skills:
• Expert SQL skills – confident writing and validating queries across large datasets
• Advanced Excel skills – comfortable analysing and reconciling report outputs
• Experience working on data migration, reporting transformation, or similar projects
• Strong understanding of data quality, profiling, and validation techniques
• Ability to document technical logic clearly and consistently
• Comfortable working independently in a remote team environment
• Familiarity with source-to-target mapping, data dictionaries, and business rules
Desirable:
• Exposure to Power BI (as a consumer or part of a delivery team)
• Background in financial data or reporting
• Previous experience working alongside BAs, Testers, or Engineering teams
If you’re a technically strong Data Analyst who enjoys solving complex data problems and wants to contribute to well-structured, scalable reporting, we’d love to hear from you.
We're looking for candidates who are immediately available!
