Job Title: Data Analyst Location-Type: Onsite 4 days/week in Houston, TX Start Date Is: ASAP Duration: Contract through end of year, with potential extension or conversion Compensation Range: $54-57/hr Benefits: Eligible for Health, Dental, Vision, 401K Not eligible for Visa sponsorship Job Description: The Data Analyst supports enterprise data initiatives through data analysis, mapping, lineage documentation, and metadata management across modern data platforms. Day-to-Day Responsibilities: • Create and maintain source-to-target mapping documents for enterprise data assets • Document data flows, lineage, relationships, and dependencies across systems • Use SQL in Snowflake to analyze datasets for completeness, quality, and business understanding • Validate data transformations and downstream reporting against documented mappings • Publish and maintain metadata, glossary terms, and data definitions in Atlan • Partner with business stakeholders, data engineers, and architects to align documentation with data models • Support governance, audit readiness, and self-service data discovery through accurate metadata • Contribute to standards and best practices for data documentation and metadata management Requirements: Must-Haves: • Bachelor's degree in Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field • Strong SQL skills with hands-on experience querying Snowflake • Experience creating data mapping documents, lineage, and technical data documentation • Familiarity with metadata management and data catalog concepts • Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills Nice-to-Haves: • Experience with Atlan or similar tools such as Collibra or Alation • Experience working with ELT pipelines and Snowflake data warehouses • Familiarity with data governance, data quality, or observability practices • Exposure to AWS-based data ecosystems • Experience supporting enterprise or ERP-driven data platforms • Experience in ETRM and FP&A modeling for Power and Gas
