Job Title: Data Analyst I Location: Columbia, SC 29223 (Hybrid – Onsite Tuesday to Thursday) Duration: 11+ Months Contract Pay Rate: $29/hr W2 (Only W2 candidates) Interview Process: 50-minute virtual interview (2nd round onsite if required) Job Overview We are seeking a Data Analyst I to support operational reporting, data analysis, and business process improvement initiatives for a leading healthcare organization (Blue Cross Blue Shield). The ideal candidate will work closely with business teams to extract, analyze, and interpret data to support decision-making and improve operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities β€’ Extract data from multiple systems using SQL and other data tools for recurring, ad hoc, and cyclical reporting β€’ Develop reports, dashboards, and analytical models to support business operations β€’ Analyze data trends and summarize findings for management and stakeholders β€’ Identify operational inefficiencies and recommend process improvements β€’ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver reporting solutions β€’ Maintain and enhance recurring reports with a focus on automation and accuracy β€’ Present insights and recommendations to business users in a clear and actionable manner Required Skills & Qualifications β€’ Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Business, Healthcare, or related field β€’ OR equivalent experience (2-year degree + 2 years experience OR 4 years relevant experience) β€’ Strong SQL skills for data extraction and analysis β€’ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power BI β€’ Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills β€’ Ability to work with complex data sets and perform statistical analysis β€’ Understanding of reporting systems and data workflows Preferred Skills β€’ Experience with Tableau, Power Automate, Python, or GitHub β€’ Experience with SAS, DB2, or other relational databases β€’ Healthcare data experience (ICD-9 / CPT coding knowledge a plus) β€’ Strong consulting, requirement gathering, and stakeholder management skills Work Environment β€’ Hybrid work model (3 days onsite per week) β€’ Collaborative team environment (approx. 10-member analytics team) β€’ Mix of development work and operational reporting support β€’ Focus on data-driven decision-making, automation, and process improvement
