Role description
Optomi, in partnership with a leading retail company, is seeking a Power BI Analyst to join their team! You will deliver trusted reporting solutions translating complex financial, contract, resource management and other key reporting metrics into actionable insights that drive informed decision-making and cost optimization. Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Information Systems, Finance, Computer Science, or a related analytical field required. Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered. • 3–5 years of hands-on Power BI experience with a proven track record delivering scalable, high-impact reporting solutions. • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Power BI, including report development and semantic modeling • Strong expertise in DAX and Power Query (M) • Experience with dimensional data modeling (star/snowflake schemas) • Proficiency in SQL for data extraction, transformation, and validation • Experience integrating data from multiple sources (e.g., SQL, Excel, cloud platforms) • Hands-on experience implementing row-level security (RLS) • Experience optimizing Power BI performance and refresh strategies • Strong data validation and reconciliation skills Job Responsibilities: • Design, build, and enhance Power BI dashboards and semantic models that are user-friendly, well-governed, and easy to maintain. • Partner with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into intuitive, actionable Power BI dashboards and reporting solutions. • Proactively identify manual reporting workflows and develop automated Power BI dashboards that reduce manual effort, improve data quality, and provide timely reporting for decision making. • Perform rigorous data validation, reconciliation, and quality monitoring to ensure financial and resource data is accurate, complete, and fully aligned between source systems and reporting outputs. • Actively investigate and resolve data discrepancies, clearly communicate root cause, and implement sustainable fixes to prevent recurrence. • Document dashboards, semantic models, and business logic—including data definitions, KPI logic, and usage guidance—and deliver user training to support scalable self-service reporting.
