Title: Data Analyst/Reports Developer, or Business Systems Analyst (NERC, ERCOT, FERC, and Texas PUC) Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid) Client: Austin Energy -( DAG2612) Duration: 10+ Months Due date: 12/15/2025 Rate: $75/hr on C2C This position is a hybrid position and will require one (1) day, in office per week (Monday). The office location is at the Austin Energy Mueller HQ, 4815 Mueller Blvd., Austin, TX 78723. Two (2) part interview process (Phone screening, followed by in-person) WORK DESCRIPTION: (Add specifics of this contract) Austin Energy s System Protection Engineering team is seeking a System Analyst III to support data analytics, reporting, automation, process documentation, and engineering operations. This role requires someone who can independently deliver reporting solutions, automate workflows, support SharePoint enhancements, and partner with engineers to manage technical datasets. The ideal candidate must translate engineering concepts into structured, meaningful reports and dashboards, perform data manipulation and automation, and build light application components (SharePoint, Power Automate, Python) needed to support internal workflows. This includes shaping raw engineering data into usable formats, developing reporting frameworks, and creating repeatable processes that enable the team to make data-driven decisions. Essential duties and functions include the following: • Enhance engineering operations through data analytics, report development, automation, and documentation • Build, update, and maintain dashboards and performance visuals using Power BI • Develop and maintain the System Protection Engineering SharePoint site, including forms, workflows, and documentation repositories • Build Power Automate flows for engineering processes • Perform Python-based data cleanup, automation, and backend access • Assist with internal project coordination and engineering operations support • Create process documentation, SOPs, and workflow diagrams • Ensure compliance with Austin Energy Records Management and Data Governance policies • Other related duties and functions may be assigned Required skills: 8 years of Experience as a Data Analyst, Reports Developer, or Business Systems Analyst. 8+ Advanced MS Excel skills including PivotTables, formulas, and (preferred) VBA/macros. 8+ Experience with Power BI 8+ Maintaining and enhancing SharePoint sites. 8+ Experience documenting workflows and processes. 1 Year of experience with utility engineering datasets such as substation, transmission, and distribution systems. 1 Year of Exposure to NERC, ERCOT, FERC, and Texas PUC regulatory environments. 2 Years of Python for automation, data cleanup, and backend data access 2 Years of experience with Power Automate.
