Role description
Data Engineer / Analytics Architect 12 month Contract Role; extension possibility Seattle, WA (Hybrid or Remote) Hourly: $82-$96/hr, DOE Civic technology team is seeking a Data Engineer / Analytics Architect to support a large-scale data modernization effort. This role focuses on designing and delivering cloud‑native data architectures, pipelines, models, and analytics solutions that enable secure, reliable, and actionable insights across multiple projects. This is a hands‑on role for someone who enjoys building scalable data systems, partnering with cross‑functional teams, and shaping data strategy in a complex environment. Responsibilities • Design and own data architectures across multiple initiatives • Build scalable ETL/ELT pipelines and integrate data from diverse systems • Develop data models, schemas, dashboards, and analytical assets • Implement data security, governance, and privacy controls • Optimize existing pipelines, queries, and cloud resources • Collaborate with engineering, product, analytics, and business teams • Produce clear documentation for architectures, pipelines, and governance • Support production readiness, monitoring, and performance improvements Qualifications • Experience designing and building data architectures in cloud environments • Strong background in AWS services (S3, Redshift, Glue, Lambda, Athena, etc.) • Hands‑on experience with ETL/ELT development and data modeling • Ability to work with structured and unstructured data • Familiarity with data governance, privacy, and security best practices • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills • Experience collaborating with cross‑functional technical and business teams Preferred • Experience in public‑sector or enterprise data environments • Background in cost‑optimized cloud architecture • Familiarity with visualization tools and dashboard development • Experience with DevOps tools such as Azure DevOps or similar Prime Team Partners is an equal opportunity employer.
