Role description
About Us
Metric has been serving clients for more than 10 years, helping businesses grow through strategic marketing, design, and storytelling. We’ve been recognized nationally and regionally for our success, including being named to the Inc. 5000 list of the fastest-growing companies in the Midwest three times and receiving multiple regional awards for high growth and impact. We’ve worked with clients across industries—from law firms and biotech to consumer brands—and we continue to serve a strong portfolio of clients with excellence.
Authenticity has guided us for over a decade. Now, we’re embracing an even greater purpose: to devote ourselves to authentic marketing for authentic brands. We believe our work should do more than generate results; it should promote truth, integrity, and authenticity in the world.
We also believe the work we do carries weight. We are trusted with our clients’ brands, stories, and reputations. That requires not only technical skill, but also character, maturity, and integrity. Our culture is one of humility, growth, and wisdom. We seek people who are spiritually and personally mature—who listen deeply, serve others, and pursue wisdom while bringing their best every day.
The Role
We are seeking a Data Analytics Specialist (contract) who can make data come alive. This role is about more than just pulling numbers — it’s about analyzing data, building dashboards, and telling the story of what the data means for our clients’ businesses.
The right candidate will be hands-on with reporting tools, detail-oriented with numbers, and skilled at translating complex performance metrics into clear, actionable insights — with a particular emphasis on e-commerce KPIs that drive growth and profitability.
Responsibilities
Data Collection & Reporting
Pull and analyze data from multiple platforms (Google Analytics 4, HubSpot, Salesforce, Klaviyo, Google Ads, Facebook Ads, Shopify, etc.).
Build automated and manual reports that capture KPIs, trends, and performance drivers.
Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across systems.
Dashboard Development
Build and maintain dashboards in tools like Google Data Studio/Looker Studio, HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar BI platforms.
Design dashboards that are both visually clear and strategically insightful.
Customize views for different audiences (internal teams vs. clients).
E-Commerce Analytics
Track and report on key metrics including ROAS, CAC, MER, LTV, retention, and repeat purchase rate.
Analyze funnel performance, abandoned cart recovery, and subscription/loyalty metrics.
Partner with paid media and CRM teams to identify profitable growth opportunities.
Analysis & Storytelling
Translate data into meaningful insights that tell the “why” behind the numbers.
Present findings to account managers and clients in clear, compelling ways.
Proactively surface trends, risks, and opportunities for optimization.
Collaboration
Work closely with account managers, SEO, paid media, content, and CRM teams to align insights with strategy.
Support leadership in building agency-wide reporting standards.
Document processes and train others in basic data usage when needed.
Who We’re Looking For
A data storyteller who can connect numbers to strategy.
Someone who rejects mediocrity and ensures reports are accurate, insightful, and useful.
A humble, self-aware professional who listens, collaborates, and seeks wisdom.
Detail-oriented but also able to see the big picture.
A proactive learner who stays sharp on analytics tools and evolving measurement standards.
Qualifications
3–5+ years of experience in marketing analytics, business intelligence, or data reporting.
Proficiency in Google Analytics 4, Google Data Studio/Looker Studio, and at least one CRM (HubSpot, Salesforce, Klaviyo).
Experience pulling and analyzing e-commerce performance metrics (ROAS, CAC, MER, LTV, retention).
Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills (pivot tables, formulas, data visualization).
Ability to translate raw data into clear insights and recommendations.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially with non-technical audiences.
Agency or multi-client experience a plus.
Compensation & Details
Hourly pay: $25.00 – $50.00 per hour, depending on experience.
