Generalist Data Annotation Expert Hourly Contract | Remote US $40 per hour About the Role A leading AI research initiative is seeking detail-oriented generalists to contribute to a large-scale project focused on improving data quality and reasoning capabilities in advanced AI systems. As a Data Annotation Expert, you’ll analyze, categorize, and label datasets across multiple domains, ensuring structured, high-quality outputs that inform the next generation of AI models. Key Responsibilities • Synthesize and structure large volumes of text, image, and multimodal data. • Annotate and categorize content according to detailed rubrics and taxonomies. • Identify and flag inconsistencies, ambiguities, or edge cases in datasets. • Apply critical thinking to ensure contextual accuracy and labeling consistency. • Collaborate asynchronously with researchers and data teams to refine labeling standards. Ideal Qualifications • Based in the United States (required). • Exceptional ability to synthesize complex information into structured outputs. • Strong written communication and organizational skills. • Prior experience with annotation frameworks, taxonomies, or rubric-based data labeling preferred (not required). • Comfortable working independently on repetitive but intellectually precise tasks.
