Role description
Job Title: Data Architect Location: Remote Client: Louisiana Office of Technology Services (OTS) Important Note: Experience working with public health agencies such as CDC, NIH, State Departments of Health, or similar organizations is a mandatory requirement for this position. Candidates who do not possess this experience will not be considered. About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled Data Architect to design and oversee enterprise data architecture initiatives supporting public health modernization efforts. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience designing scalable data ecosystems, building ETL pipelines, and integrating modern data technologies into existing enterprise environments. Responsibilities: • Design and maintain enterprise data architecture frameworks and standards. • Develop data models and data integration strategies. • Design and manage data systems, storage structures, and access policies. • Build and optimize data pipelines and ETL processes. • Coordinate and integrate multiple data sources across the organization. • Support database administration and data platform optimization. • Evaluate and implement new data technologies within existing IT infrastructures. • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure scalable, secure, and efficient data solutions. • Support modernization of legacy data environments and data ecosystems. Required Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field. • 10+ years of experience working with enterprise data ecosystems. • Extensive experience writing SQL queries and optimizing database performance. • Experience building and maintaining ETL pipelines. • Strong experience designing enterprise data architectures and data models. • Experience working with public health agencies such as CDC, NIH, State Departments of Health, or similar organizations. • Experience modernizing legacy data infrastructures. Preferred Qualifications: • Experience with cloud-based data platforms and modern data architecture frameworks. • Experience with large-scale public sector or healthcare data environments. Work Arrangement: • Primary work location: Remote within the Continental United States. • Occasional travel or onsite presence may be required based on client needs.
