Role: Data Architect Location: Alpharetta, GA Onsite role Duration: Long term Contract Work Schedule: 5 days a week onsite Experience: 12+ Years Employment Type: Must work on Next Gen Software Solutions LLC's W2 Job Description: Key Responsibilities: Data Architecture Design: Design, implement, and maintain enterprise-level data architectures to support business needs, with a focus on scalability, data governance, and high performance. Data Cataloging: Use Alation or similar tools for data cataloging to ensure proper data documentation, accessibility, and traceability across the organization. Data Pipeline Development: Develop and optimize data pipelines to efficiently ingest and transform data, particularly in cloud environments like Snowflake. Data Modeling: Design and maintain both logical and physical data models, ensuring data consistency and efficiency across various systems and platforms. SQL & Excel Expertise: Write complex, optimized SQL queries for data analysis, reporting and transformation. Extensive experience with Excel, including macros, to automate data processing and reporting. Data Lineage & Governance: Utilize Manta or similar tools to track, document, and visualize data lineage, ensuring proper data flow and governance practices. Compliance with Standards: Apply ISO20022 and BIAN financial standards to design and integrate data systems. Collaboration & Mentorship: Work closely with both business and technical teams to ensure alignment with overall business goals. Provide guidance to junior team members. Problem-Solving: Address complex data-related issues, ensuring high-quality data management and integrity across all systems. Required Skills & Qualifications: Minimum 10+ years of experience in Data Architecture. Minimum 12+ years of experience in Data Modeling. Minimum 7+ years of experience in Data Analysis. Experience with Data Cataloging tools, preferably Alation, Collibra, or similar platforms. Strong Python development experience, particularly in ETL processes, data transformations, and automation (3+ years). Expertise in building data pipelines for platforms like Snowflake or similar cloud-based data warehouses. Advanced proficiency in SQL for complex querying, performance tuning and optimization (experience with MongoDB, Oracle, SQL Server). Proficient in Excel, including the ability to write macros for data automation and reporting. Experience in Data Lineage using tools like Manta to ensure data flow transparency and governance. Card Industry experience (5+ years) working with data systems specific to the card/payment industry. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical teams. Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively within cross-functional teams. Deep understanding of the finance domain, including familiarity with financial regulations, compliance, and data reporting. Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, etc.). Experience working with Agile and Scrum methodologies. Mainframe experience (a plus). Knowledge of ISO20022 and BIAN standards for financial data systems (a plus). Education: Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field.
