A leading consultancy is seeking a skilled Azure Data Architect to lead the design and delivery of scalable, cloud-native data solutions for enterprise clients. About the Role
This is a full-time contract role with a hybrid working model, requiring two days per week on-site in London.
Responsibilities
• Architect and implement modern data platforms using Azure services (e.g., Data Lake, Synapse, Data Factory, Databricks).
• Apply the Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold layers) to structure and optimize data pipelines.
• Define data strategies, governance frameworks, and integration patterns.
• Lead data migration and modernization efforts from legacy systems to Azure.
• Ensure performance, scalability, and security across data environments.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and mentor technical teams.
Qualifications
• Proven experience as a Data Architect in consultancy or enterprise settings.
Required Skills
• Strong hands-on expertise with Azure data services and lakehouse architecture.
• Solid understanding of data modelling, ETL/ELT pipelines, and data warehousing.
• Familiarity with Power BI, Azure Purview, and CI/CD practices.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Preferred Skills
• Experience with other cloud platforms (AWS, GCP).
• Relevant Azure certifications (e.g., Data Engineer, Solutions Architect).
Pay range and compensation package
Day Rate: £650/day (Outside IR35)
