The Role
We are working with a leading organisation who are looking for a Data Architect to support the migration of Finance and HR systems into Workday. This role will be pivotal in shaping the data strategy, ensuring robust architecture, governance, and scalability while supporting the transition to new tooling.
You will play a hands-on role in designing, migrating, and implementing data architecture solutions, while also shaping the data operating model for long-term adoption. This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-profile programme and work with senior stakeholders across Finance, HR, and technology.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Oversee the migration of Finance and HR data into Workday
β’ Develop and maintain the overall data architecture strategy
β’ Design and implement scalable cloud-based data architecture solutions
β’ Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into data models and processes
β’ Integrate data systems using modern cloud tech stacks and tooling
β’ Establish strong governance, security, and quality standards
β’ Define and implement a data management framework and operating model
β’ Drive the evolution of data architecture to support analytics and AI capabilities
β’ Mentor and provide technical leadership across data teams
Skills & Experience Required
β’ Proven experience as a Data Architect on large-scale programmes
β’ Strong background in Workday (Finance & HR data)
β’ Expertise in data integration, ETL, and data modelling
β’ Advanced skills in SQL, Python, or similar
β’ Strong knowledge of data governance, quality, and security best practices
β’ Experience with cloud architectures (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
β’ Track record of designing and implementing data management frameworks and operating models
β’ Excellent communication skills, able to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders
β’ Leadership experience within data teams
Desirable
β’ DAMA certified (CDMP)
β’ Knowledge of Lakehouse and other database architectures
β’ Familiarity with observability principles and BI tools (e.g. Power BI)
β’ Experience working in Agile environments
