Data Architect (Life Sciences)

Title: Data Architect Location: Santa Monica, CA, USA - onsite Type: Contract Note: Candidate must have experience in Cell and Gene Therapy expertise and local to LA. Onsite role where resource will be responsible for leading the design, development, and implementation of scalable data pipelines and architectural solutions. He /She serve as both a technical expert and a mentor, guiding a team of data engineers while actively contributing to hands-on coding, architecture design, and system optimization. He / She will ensure the delivery of high-quality data solutions that meet business needs and align with our strategic vision. Responsibilities • Hands-On Development: Write clean, well-documented, and performant code in languages like Python or Scala for data ingestion, transformation, and processing. • Data Architecture & Design: Design, build, and maintain robust, scalable, and efficient data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows to support data analytics, business intelligence, and machine learning initiatives. • Engage with business stakeholders to understand their data requirements, business goals, and the challenges they face. • Translate business needs into clear, actionable technical specifications and data solutions. • Quality & Governance: Implement and enforce data governance, quality, and security standards across all data assets. Primary Skill Set Strong SQL, Python, Cloud platforms I.e Snowflake, AWS S3 etc), GxP Process, Compliance. Domain: Life Sciences Soft Skills: Excellent Communication Design and maintain the Conceptual, Logical, and Physical data models for the Nexus platform, ensuring seamless flow between Clinical, Logistics, and Manufacturing modules. Architect the integration layer between Salesforce (Patient Journey) and shop-floor systems Design secure API architectures, ensuring the implementation of Mutual TLS (mTLS) and OAuth 2.0 for all system-to-system communications.
