Data Architect Job Title: Data Architect Location: Plano, TX (Hybrid - 3 days onsite) Requirement: Local candidates only; must be open to in-person interviews; 10–14 years of experience required. Required Skills & Qualifications • Core Experience: 10–14 years of experience in data architecture and solution design. • Databricks Expertise: Strong proficiency in Databricks SQL and implementing robust data architectures on lakehouse platforms. • SQL & Database: Expert-level Database and SQL skills, including data modeling and integrity management. • Visualization Stack: Extensive experience with Tableau Cloud and Tableau for building interactive, executive-level dashboards. • Power BI & IoT: Specialized knowledge in IoT - Power BI integration and Experience Design within Power BI. • Certifications: Must hold a Tableau Certification and be Microsoft Certified. • Domain: Previous experience in large-scale enterprise data environments (Automotive or Manufacturing experience is a plus). Role Overview The Data Architect will lead the design and implementation of high-performance data solutions for Toyota in a hybrid work environment based in Plano. This role is critical for bridging the gap between raw data sources—including IoT device streams—and actionable business intelligence. You will oversee the evolution of the data lakehouse architecture using Databricks SQL and ensure that complex datasets are transformed into intuitive visual stories using Tableau and Power BI. The ideal candidate is a technical leader who can ensure scalability, security, and superior user experience design for all analytics platforms. Technical Core & Responsibilities Data Architecture & lakehouse Design • Robust Infrastructure: Design and implement data architectures leveraging Databricks SQL to support real-time and batch business objectives. • Data Modeling: Oversee the lifecycle of data models and database schemas, prioritizing data integrity and high-performance accessibility. • IoT Integration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ingest and integrate IoT data into Power BI, enabling advanced tracking and predictive insights. Advanced Analytics & Visualization • Tableau Ecosystem: Develop and maintain complex, interactive dashboards in Tableau Cloud to visualize trends and patterns for stakeholders. • UX/Experience Design: Lead the Experience Design for Power BI solutions, ensuring that reporting tools are not only functional but optimized for end-user adoption and ease of use. • Actionable Insights: Perform deep-dive analysis on complex datasets to extract business-critical insights that drive corporate decision-making. Governance & Continuous Improvement • System Optimization: Conduct regular audits of data systems to identify performance bottlenecks and implement necessary scalability improvements. • Governance & Policy: Contribute to the development of data governance policies to ensure compliance with industry standards and data security. • Technical Mentorship: Provide guidance to junior team members, driving the adoption of best practices in data management and cutting-edge analytics across the organization.
