About The FCA
The FCA regulates the conduct of 45,000 firms in the UK to ensure our financial markets are honest, fair and competitive. Follow this link to find out more About the FCA.
As part of our mission to deliver the Digital Unified Intelligence Environment (DUIE), the Digital Intelligence Solutions department is looking for a talented Senior Associate to step into a key delivery role for six months. This opportunity arises as one of our valued team members takes a well-earned career break and we’re seeking someone who can ensure continuity while contributing meaningfully to a fast-moving and purpose-inspired programme.
The role sits at the heart of the “Enabling Intelligent Automation” team, where we harness FCA data to design and implement computational business rules that drive automated and augmented decision-making across the organisation.
This is more than just a temporary position; it’s a chance to directly support high-impact strategic initiatives and shape the future of digital intelligence at the FCA. You’ll be joining a collaborative, forward-thinking environment within the Intelligence & Digital directorate, which is a key pillar of our broader Data, Technology & Innovation division. If you’re motivated by meaningful work, excited by the intersection of data and decision-making and ready to make a tangible difference, we’d love to hear from you.
What will you be doing?
• Act as a trusted advisor for business teams, helping them understand how Decision Hub 2 can automate reviews and responses. You'll lead conversations, tailor solutions and showcase the platform’s capabilities across the FCA
• Translate business processes and regulatory logic into scalable computational rules using BPMN and DMN, working closely with SMEs to ensure accuracy and alignment with FCA strategy
• Use the Enterprise Data Platform to model and prepare data for automation, including structuring inputs via a custom Form Parser for effective rule execution
• Collaborate with technical teams to ensure the right data pipelines and models are in place to support automation, aligned with the FCA’s enterprise data strategy
• Work closely with stakeholders to refine their needs, balancing business objectives with technical feasibility and aligning with the goals of DUIE
• Help stakeholders articulate their goals and design bespoke rule-based solutions that meet their needs like crafting a custom tasting menu based on their preferences
What will you get from the role?
• Play a pivotal role in the FCA’s data-inspired regulatory transformation, helping to redefine how the organisation leverages intelligence at scale to make smarter choices
• Dive into innovative, high-impact projects that combine business insight, cutting-edge data strategy and automation to drive real change
• Build meaningful connections across the FCA, gaining valuable exposure to both technical teams and policy experts, broadening your professional network
• Sharpen your skills in stakeholder engagement, rule authoring and collaborating on data infrastructure, positioning yourself at the forefront of digital innovation
• Enjoy continuous learning and development opportunities that will empower you to grow your expertise and advance your career in a fast-evolving, data-led environment
