Role description
Data Consultant
Location: London (Hybrid)
Duration: 9‑month contract
Rate: Circa £350+ per day DOE & number of days worked
IR35: Outside
Working Pattern: 5 days/week for first 3 months, then 4 days/week (or 4 days/week from start)
If you’re a data specialist who loves blending across departments and people work — this is a role where you’ll genuinely shape how an organisation thinks about data. They’re consolidating multiple data systems into one domain, launching new analytical products, and transitioning away from external consultants. Now they need an internal expert to steady the ship and coach the teams through change.
You’ll work across a full Microsoft ecosystem, supporting the build of dashboards, strengthening governance foundations, and raising data literacy across a traditionally structured organisation that’s beginning to modernise. Expect a hands‑on mix of technical delivery, cultural coaching, and plenty of stakeholder interaction.
Your first 30 days will be all about absorbing the framework left by external teams and building relationships with data owners, stewards, and governance groups. By 90 days, you’ll be driving implementation, refining processes, and helping embed new ways of working into BAU. This role has visibility, influence, and the chance to leave behind a case study you’ll be proud of.
What You’ll Bring
• Strong data governance experience
• Comfortable across Microsoft data tooling
• Excellent stakeholder management & project skills
• Empathy, patience, and strong communication for coaching teams
• Ability to win over audiences and build trust in the new model
If you enjoy combining technical depth with people‑centric change, this contract offers real impact and variety.
