Genesis10 is currently seeking a Data Consultant with our client in the financial industry located in Charlotte, NC, Plano, TX and Pennington, NJ. This is a 12+ month contract position.
Responsibilities:
• Detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent activities by monitoring digital transactions, authentication events and network activity, by analyzing data to identify patterns and implementing protective measures
• Utilize various tools and data sets to uncover suspicious behavior, document fraud trends, report incidents according to current processes and procedures, and develop strategies to minimize impacts and financial losses
• Monitor online transactions, network activity, and user behavior to identify suspicious or unauthorized patterns indicative of fraud
• Analyze large datasets using various tools (like Splunk, SQL, or Tableau) to find fraud trends and anomalies
• Investigate fraud alerts, document incidents, gather evidence, and enter suspect information into case management systems
• Create and maintain operational reports on fraud incidents, trends, and performance metrics for management and regulatory requirements
• Develop and implement strategies, controls, and preventive measures to minimize fraud risks and losses
• Work with other internal teams (like cybersecurity and compliance) to address fraud cases
• Stay updated on emerging cyber fraud trends, techniques, and threat intelligence to proactively defend against new threats
• Assess and troubleshoot technical issues related to fraud monitoring and detection technologies
Requirements:
• Strong ability to interpret complex data and identity patterns
• Expertise with fraud detection software, data management systems, and tool like SQL
• Leverage a methodical approach to resolving issues and identifying root causes and vulnerabilities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting, collaboration, and documentation
• A methodical and precise approach to investigation and analysis
Pay range: $36.35 - $44.35
