Description Position Overview NexCore is seeking a Data Conversion Specialist to support technology integrations as part of our acquisition strategy. This role is responsible for end-to-end ownership of data conversion activities during Operating Company implementations onto NexCoreโ€™s technology stack. The Data Conversion Specialist will act as a strategic individual contributor, partnering closely with NexCore implementation teams, vendor implementation teams, and Operating Company stakeholders to ensure legacy data is accurately extracted, transformed, validated, and loaded into target systems. This role is a critical capacity unlock, enabling implementation teams to scale throughput while improving data quality and reducing reliance on third-party consultants. This position is contract-to-hire and fully remote. Conversion to full-time employee: 60-90 days Contract: $45-60hr Full-time: $80,000 - $100,000 Responsibilities Data Conversion Ownership Own the full data conversion lifecycle for OpCo implementations, including: Data extraction from legacy systems. Data mapping and transformation. Population of target ERP and application import templates. Data validation and reconciliation pre- and post-load. Serve as the primary point of accountability for data readiness during implementations. Cross-Functional Coordination Partner with: NexCore Implementation Analysts and Project Coordinators. Vendor implementation teams. Operating Company business and technical stakeholders. Develop a deep understanding of how legacy systems operate and how data must function in the target environment. Translate business and operational requirements into accurate data mappings. Data Quality and Risk Management Assess legacy data quality and identify risks early in the implementation lifecycle. Push back on insufficient or inaccurate data when appropriate. Pragmatically design workarounds when necessary to meet implementation timelines without compromising critical data integrity. Proactively surface data-related risks, dependencies, and decisions. Tooling, Reuse, and Continuous Improvement Build and maintain reusable conversion templates, scripts, and documentation. Standardize data conversion approaches across ERP, field service, accounting, CRM, and payroll systems. Reduce manual effort and variability across implementations over time. Assist with refining NexCoreโ€™s overall data conversion playbook. Validation and Go-Live Support Support testing cycles and user validation of converted data. Assist with go-live readiness related to data completeness and accuracy. Support post-go-live issue resolution related to data conversion as needed. Systems and Data Domains This role will regularly work across: ERP platforms. Field service and dispatch systems. Accounting and financial systems. CRM platforms. Payroll and HR systems. Exposure to construction or HVAC-specific ERP platforms is a strong plus. Qualifications 3โ€“5 years of experience in data conversion, data migration, or system implementation roles. Strong hands-on experience with: SQL. Advanced Excel-based data transformation and validation. Experience owning data conversion activities end-to-end for system implementations. Ability to work across multiple systems and data domains simultaneously. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication skills and ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications Experience with ETL tools and/or scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell. Prior experience supporting ERP or field service system implementations. Exposure to construction, HVAC, or project-based service industries. Experience working in acquisition-driven or multi-entity environments. Education Bachelorโ€™s degree required. Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related technical field strongly preferred. Equivalent practical experience in data conversion, system implementation, or data engineering will be considered where appropriate. Working Style and Expectations Operates as a self-directed specialist with clear ownership and accountability. Comfortable navigating ambiguity and incomplete data. Balances data quality rigor with practical delivery timelines. Capable of supporting one OpCo implementation at a time initially, with flexibility to support parallel efforts as the organization scales. Success Measures Success in this role will be measured by: Reduction in implementation timelines driven by data readiness. Decreased reliance on third-party data conversion consultants. Improved data quality and fewer postโ€“go-live data defects. Consistent, repeatable data conversion outcomes across OpCos. Career Path Considerations This role is expected to remain a specialist position as long as data conversion demand exists.
