Role description
We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer with strong expertise in Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Fabric, SQL, and Python to design, build, and maintain scalable data solutions. The ideal candidate will play a key role in developing cloud-based data pipelines, optimizing data workflows, and supporting data-driven decision-making across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and ETL processes using Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric, and related Azure data services.
β’ Implement and manage data models, data lakes, and data warehouses in the Azure ecosystem.
β’ Develop Python scripts for data ingestion, transformation, and automation of data workflows.
β’ Optimize and tune SQL queries, stored procedures, and database performance for large-scale datasets.
β’ Collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to ensure data accuracy, availability, and accessibility.
β’ Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines to ensure reliability and high performance.
β’ Enforce data governance, quality, and security best practices across all data assets.
β’ Stay current with emerging technologies in data engineering, cloud computing, and analytics platforms.
Required Skills & Qualifications
β’ Bachelorβs degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related field.
β’ 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.
β’ Strong proficiency with Microsoft Azure Data Services, including:
β’ Azure Data Factory (ADF)
β’ Azure Synapse Analytics / Microsoft Fabric
β’ Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS)
β’ Azure SQL Database
β’ Solid experience in Python programming for data engineering tasks.
β’ Expertise in SQL development, performance tuning, and database optimization.
β’ Understanding of data modeling, ETL design principles, and data integration frameworks.
β’ Experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines for data solutions.
β’ Familiarity with data security, compliance, and governance frameworks.
Preferred Qualifications
β’ Experience with Power BI integration or data visualization tools.
β’ Knowledge of Databricks or Spark for large-scale data processing.
β’ Azure certifications such as:
β’ Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate
β’ Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
