Role description
• No 3rd party candidates Data Engineer / Business Systems Engineer Location: San Jose, CA (Onsite) Duration: Contract-to-Hire We are seeking a Data Engineer / Business Systems Engineer to join a growing global technology organization. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys working across data platforms, enterprise applications, and business systems. You'll partner closely with stakeholders across multiple departments to support and enhance critical business applications while helping drive data integration and reporting initiatives. This opportunity is ideal for a mid-level professional who has experience with data warehousing, enterprise applications, and system administration responsibilities in a corporate environment. Responsibilities • Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines, integrations, and data warehouse solutions. • Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions. • Support and administer business-critical applications such as CRM, ERP, SCM, and related systems. • Develop and optimize SQL queries, data models, and reporting solutions. • Assist with system enhancements, upgrades, configurations, and ongoing support activities. • Collaborate with vendors and cross-functional teams on implementation and improvement projects. • Troubleshoot application and data-related issues while ensuring system reliability and performance. • Create and maintain technical documentation, processes, and best practices. Qualifications • 4+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Business Systems, Enterprise Applications, or a related field. • Strong SQL and Python skills. • Experience with data warehousing technologies, ideally Databricks or similar platforms. • Hands-on experience with at least one or more of the following: • CRM platforms (Dynamics 365 preferred) • ERP systems • Supply Chain Management (SCM) systems • Boomi or EDI integrations • Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) • Experience with data integration, ETL processes, and data modeling. • Strong communication skills with the ability to work directly with business users and technical teams. • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Preferred Qualifications • Experience supporting global users or enterprise-scale environments. • Exposure to Azure, AWS, or Oracle Cloud technologies. • Experience working in manufacturing, semiconductor, technology, or other complex enterprise environments. • Prior experience coordinating with third-party vendors and managing application enhancements.
