Data Engineer

Job Title: Data Engineer Job at a Glance: This role will own the building of a content retrieval tool involving a tv voice remote. Location: 1325 G Street Northwest, Washington DC Work Schedule: Hybrid - 4x onsite, 1 day remote Pay Rate: $70/hr W2 + optional benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision, and 401k) Duration of Contract: 3-months w/ potential for extension and permanent placement Responsibilities: Design and build scalable data ingestion pipelines using Python, PySpark, and Airflow, primarily within Databricks notebooks. Develop and maintain tools for content retrieval, enabling conversational capabilities in the voice remote product using generative AI. Process and push structured and unstructured data into ElasticSearch or AWS OpenSearch, ensuring efficient indexing and retrieval. Work independently to architect and implement data solutions for a new initiative, collaborating minimally with other engineers initially. Optimize data systems and workflows to improve sophistication and scalability across the voice remote platform. Leverage AWS services to support data engineering tasks, ensuring secure and reliable cloud-based infrastructure.
