Data Engineer

No Visa Candidates. No 3rd Parties Data Engineer Seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Engineering and Automation professional to join the team. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in data extraction, transform and load (ETL) from various systems and multi-dimensional cube files, ingest data into relational databases, tethering disparate data sets into a comprehensive data set for analysis, running analysis using various optimization models and exposing analytical results using various visualization techniques. Equally important is the ability to build automation using power platform tools to automate repetitive manual tasks for internal customers. Key Responsibilities: • Build automation for internal customers to eliminate manual repetitive tasks • Extract and validate data from various systems using data interfaces and API • Transform extracted data, associate data sets and load it efficiently into relational databases, ensuring data integrity and optimization. • Perform data analysis to support business operations, decision making, and strategic initiatives. • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, business units, and data engineering, to ensure seamless data flow and integration. • Conduct regular data quality assessments and implement necessary measures to maintain and improve data accuracy, consistency, and reliability. • Develop, document, and maintain automation and ETL processes, methodologies, and best practices. • Provide support and training to end-users and stakeholders on data extraction, reporting tools, and analytical methodologies. • Stay updated with advancements in AI, data analytics technologies, and industry best practices to continuously enhance data analysis capabilities. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field. • Minimum of 3 years of experience in data engineering and/or using automation tools • Strong modeling and development experience with multi-dimensional (OLAP) and relational (OLTP) databases. • Proven experience using Power Platform tools including PowerApps and Power Automate • Strong proficiency in data ingestion tools including R script, Alteryx, SSIS, Python. • Exposure to building visualization using Power BI and QA/testing of user interfaces. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail. • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders. • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. • Familiarity with Agile methodologies is a plus. Preferred Skills: • Experience with relational databases like PostgreSQL and multi-dimensional models built using SSAS, SAP BW, GEP smart, Redshift cluster etc. • Experience in the energy sector or utility industry. • Knowledge of data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI. • Understanding of data governance and compliance standards.
