Role description
Cullerton Group has a new opportunity for a Data Engineer 5. The work will be done hybrid, based out of Chicago, Dallas, or Peoria, with the expectation to be onsite 2–3 days per week. This is a 12-month long-term position that can lead to permanent employment with our client. Compensation is up to $100/hr + full benefits (vision, dental, health insurance, 401k, and holiday pay). Job Summary Cullerton Group is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to support enterprise-level data architecture, integration, and analytics initiatives. This role focuses on setting and maintaining standards for databases, data pipelines, and data integration practices that enable strategic business outcomes. The engineer will partner closely with data architects, solution leads, developers, and business teams to guide design decisions and ensure scalable, high-quality data solutions. This position is ideal for a senior-level data professional who enjoys technical leadership, mentoring, and complex data problem-solving. Key Responsibilities β€’ Set and maintain enterprise standards for databases, data integration, and data access β€’ Direct developers and analysts in enhancing existing data pipelines, databases, and data processes β€’ Provide technical guidance on logical and physical data modeling β€’ Execute investigations and analyses to support data design decisions and insights β€’ Develop standards, guidelines, and best practices for data engineering solutions β€’ Collaborate with data architects, solution leads, and application teams across multiple projects Required Qualifications β€’ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Programming, or a related field β€’ 10+ years of professional experience in data engineering or data architecture roles β€’ Expert knowledge of logical and physical data modeling β€’ Strong experience with SQL and modern data platforms (e.g., Snowflake or similar) β€’ Proven ability to work independently and manage complex workloads β€’ Strong verbal and written communication skills Preferred Qualifications β€’ Experience leading or mentoring other data engineers β€’ Background working with enterprise-scale data environments β€’ Strong stakeholder collaboration and customer-facing experience Why This Role?
