About The Role
We are seeking a senior?level Data Engineer to join an enterprise Data Solutions & Architecture team. This role functions as a data solutions lead, responsible for translating business and technical requirements into well?designed, actionable data solutions that downstream engineering teams can execute.
This is not a pure ETL or pipeline?build role. The focus is on data literacy, investigation, solution design, and communication. You will operate at the intersection of business stakeholders, architects, and data engineers, ensuring data decisions are logical, scalable, and clearly documented from design through execution.
What You’ll Do
• Investigate and analyze large, complex datasets to identify patterns, issues, and priority findings
• Translate ambiguous business and technical requirements into clear, executable data solution designs
• Design conceptual, logical, and consumption?layer data models
• Define and document data flows and solution approaches for downstream data engineering teams
• Provide technical direction and clarity to engineers implementing data changes
• Ensure continuity from solution design through delivery and execution
• Author clear documentation explaining data logic, tradeoffs, and key decisions
• Collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and business stakeholders
• Communicate insights and recommendations through strong written and verbal storytelling
Tools & Technologies
• SQL (expert?level querying of complex and high?volume datasets)
• Enterprise data platforms (e.g., Snowflake or similar)
• Data modeling tools and frameworks
• AWS exposure is a plus but not required (used primarily as a source into the data lake)
Required Qualifications
• 10+ years of hands?on data engineering experience
• Strong expertise in data investigation, analysis, and modeling
• Advanced SQL skills across complex datasets
• Experience designing conceptual and logical data models
• Proven ability to work independently and manage complex problem spaces
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong collaboration skills when working with architects and engineering teams

• Data Literacy: Ability to quickly learn new data domains, investigate datasets, query data, and extract meaningful insights
• Data Design: Experience building conceptual, logical, and consumption?level data models
• Communication: Ability to clearly explain data findings and design decisions to both technical and non?technical audiences
