Role description
Job Title: Data Engineer (W2 Contract Only) Duration: 7 months Hours: 37.5 per week Location: Hybrid – Boston, MA area (local candidates only) An experienced Data Engineer is required to support the IT team responsible for data systems across healthcare departments. The role involves designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and solutions using Snowflake and Informatica, ensuring data accuracy, security, and accessibility. Key Responsibilities • Design and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using Informatica. • Develop and optimize data models and schemas in Snowflake. • Ensure compliance with data privacy and security standards (HIPAA/HITECH). • Integrate data from multiple sources, including healthcare systems (HL7, FHIR, X12 EDI). • Implement and monitor data ingestion, transformation, and quality processes. • Collaborate with analysts, data scientists, and business users. • Manage documentation, governance, and access controls. Required Qualifications • 3–5+ years in data engineering or ETL development. • Strong experience with Snowflake (SQL, data modeling) and Informatica (PowerCenter or IICS). • Proficient in SQL and data warehousing principles. • Experience handling structured and semi-structured data (JSON, XML, CSV). • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP). Preferred Skills • Python for automation and scripting. • Experience with Informatica Data Quality or Data Catalog tools. • Knowledge of CI/CD, Git, and Agile workflows. Education • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or related field. • Snowflake or Informatica certifications a plus. Soft Skills • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability. • Excellent communication and teamwork. • Attention to detail and commitment to data quality.
