Role description
Title: Data Engineer Industry: Gaming / Entertainment Location: Santa Monica, CA (Hybrid) Duration: 6 Months Responsibilities: β€’ Design and maintain scalable data pipelines and architectures to support analytics, game telemetry, and live operations. β€’ Collaborate closely with engineers, analysts, and data scientists to deliver reliable backend data services. β€’ Develop reusable data marts and tools that can serve multiple products and game titles. β€’ Ensure data integrity, quality, and security across systems and environments. β€’ Implement monitoring, automation, and documentation to improve performance and maintainability. Requirements: β€’ 5+ years of professional experience in data or software engineering. β€’ Strong proficiency in Python and PySpark, with experience in SQL and modern data frameworks such as Airflow or DBT. β€’ Deep understanding of data warehousing, ETL processes, and scalable data architecture. β€’ Experience working with cloud environments (AWS or GCP) and tools like Databricks. β€’ Proven ability to design and deliver end-to-end data systems in complex, fast-paced environments. β€’ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline (or equivalent experience). Bonus Skills: β€’ Knowledge of multiple programming languages (e.g., Java, Scala). β€’ Familiarity with orchestration and workflow automation platforms. β€’ Experience with large-scale data processing tools (e.g., Spark, BigQuery). β€’ Previous experience in analytics-driven or gaming environments. Hourly rate is commensurate with experience and is an estimated range provided by WorkGenius.
