Cititec is partnered with a leading global energy trading firm that is seeking a Senior Data Platform Engineer (Contract) to help deliver and scale their enterprise data platform. This role is focused on hands-on engineering, ensuring trading and risk teams have fast, reliable access to high-quality data.
Responsibilities
• Design and maintain a scalable, secure enterprise data platform
• Build and optimise ETL pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and integration of trading data
• Establish best practices for data quality, governance, and security
• Collaborate with trading, risk, and analytics teams to deliver data-driven solutions
• Drive automation, optimisation, and adoption of modern data tools and technologies
Skills & Experience
• Proven experience building and maintaining large-scale data platforms
• Expertise in data engineering, warehousing, and ETL processes
• Strong proficiency in Python
• Experience with Snowflake, Databricks, and Kafka
• Knowledge of Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines
• Cloud experience (AWS preferred) with exposure to hybrid/on-premise environments
• Background in energy trading, commodities, or financial services is highly beneficial
