Job Title: Data Engineer β Marketing Data (Marketo)

We are working with a Financial Services company who are looking for a skilled Data Engineer to join our Marketing Operations team and help us build robust data pipelines that power our marketing insights, personalization, and automation efforts centered around Marketo and other martech tools.
Role Overview:
As a Data Engineer focused on marketing data, you will play a critical role in designing, building, and maintaining data infrastructure that connects Marketo with internal and external systems. Youβll collaborate closely with marketing, analytics, and engineering teams to enable scalable campaign operations, real-time personalization, and actionable reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
β’ Develop and maintain data pipelines that ingest, transform, and distribute marketing data, especially from and to Marketo.
β’ Integrate Marketo with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce), web analytics, customer data platforms (CDPs), and data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift).
β’ Ensure data quality, reliability, and governance for all marketing datasets.
β’ Collaborate with marketing operations to support campaign automation, lead scoring, attribution modeling, and segmentation.
β’ Build and maintain ETL/ELT workflows to support reporting dashboards and analytics.
β’ Partner with Data Analysts and Marketing teams to understand data needs and deliver scalable data solutions.
β’ Monitor data flows and troubleshoot data-related issues across systems.
β’ Create documentation and enforce best practices for data security, privacy (e.g., GDPR, CCPA), and compliance.
Qualifications:
β’ Bachelorβs degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field; or equivalent practical experience.
β’ 3+ years of experience in data engineering, with exposure to marketing or martech data.
β’ Hands-on experience with Marketo, including API usage and data schemas.
β’ Proficiency in SQL and Python; experience with ETL tools (e.g., dbt, Apache Airflow, Fivetran).
β’ Experience integrating Marketo with CRM systems, particularly Salesforce.
β’ Familiarity with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift.
β’ Understanding of marketing KPIs, lead funnels, campaign structures, and attribution models.
β’ Knowledge of RESTful APIs and experience with webhooks, batch uploads, and data sync processes.
β’ Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with marketing and technical teams.
Nice to Have:
β’ Experience with reverse ETL tools (e.g., Hightouch, Census).
β’ Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau).
β’ Knowledge of other martech platforms like Segment, HubSpot, or Adobe Experience Cloud.
β’ Prior experience working in a B2B SaaS or e-commerce environment.
