About the Role
We are looking for a highly skilled Data Engineer to support data integration, transformation, and orchestration initiatives for one of our leading telecom clients based in London.
This role requires deep expertise in data pipeline development and data modeling, using tools such as DBT, Airflow, Fivetran, and Erwin.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, build, and maintain scalable and robust data pipelines using Airflow, Fivetran, and DBT.
Develop data models and document metadata using Erwin Data Modeler.
Collaborate with business stakeholders and data analysts to understand data requirements and translate them into efficient engineering solutions.
Optimize data flows and manage orchestration and scheduling using Apache Airflow.
Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and consistency across systems.
Implement CI/CD pipelines and monitor job performance and failures.
Support data governance, data quality, and compliance initiatives.
Required Skills and Experience:
Proven experience as a Data Engineer in a fast-paced, enterprise-level environment.
Strong hands-on experience with:
DBT (Data Build Tool) for transforming and modeling data
Airflow for orchestrating workflows
Fivetran for data extraction and integration
Erwin for data modeling and documentation
Strong understanding of relational databases and SQL (PostgreSQL, Snowflake, BigQuery, etc.).
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
Experience working with large-scale datasets and complex ETL/ELT processes.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Telecom domain experience is highly desirable.
Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD tools.
Knowledge of data privacy regulations and compliance requirements in the telecom sector.
