Data Engineer AWS

Title: AWS Data Engineer Location: Torrance, CA Duration: 12+ Months contract role Pay rate $77 Per hr on W2 Responsibilities: • Responsible for designing, developing, and implementing data integration processes using Informatica IDMC. • Responsible for collaborating with business Analyst, Data Architect to understand business requirements for data integration and transformation requirements. • Responsible for design, develop and test application interfaces using various application connectors like Sales Force and AWS. • Responsible for Data validation, process tuning and automation of interface / data transfer processes. • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data integration workflows to ensure high performance and reliability. • Evaluate the existing landscape and underlying data layers to provide architectural recommendations to meet business requirements. Essential Knowledge and Skills: • Hands-on experience with Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services (IDMC), including Data Integration and Application Integration. • Strong understanding of data integration concepts, ETL/ELT processes, and data mapping. • Strong background in Data Integration design, develop and implement complex solutions using Informatica is required. • Strong practical knowledge of traditional and agile SDLC methodologies required. • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot data-related issues. • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in a team environment. Requirements: • 3–5 years of experience in data engineering. • Strong experience with distributed data processing (Spark, AWS Glue, EMR, or equivalent). • Hands-on expertise with data modeling, ETL pipelines, and performance optimization. • Strong hands-on expertise in building and optimizing ETL pipelines into Amazon Redshift Position Success Criteria (Desired) - 'WANTS' • 5–6 years of experience in data engineering. • AWS Certification will be a plus Preferred Skills: • Understanding of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud-native services (AWS preferred). • Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g. pyspark, shell). • Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines for data integration workflows. • Familiarity with data governance and data quality.
