Data Engineer – Azure Synapse & SQL (Ex-Microsoft)

Job Title: Data Engineer – Azure Synapse & SQL Location: Remote Engagement Type: Contract (C2C) Work Authorization: No OPT/CPT Job Summary Chabez Tech is seeking an experienced Data Engineer with strong expertise in Azure Synapse Analytics and SQL to support enterprise data engineering initiatives. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience designing, building, and optimizing scalable data pipelines and analytical solutions within the Azure ecosystem. This role requires strong technical ownership and the ability to work independently in a fully remote, contract-based environment. Key Responsibilities • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Azure Synapse Analytics • Develop and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and views • Integrate data from multiple sources using Azure data services • Ensure data quality, performance tuning, and query optimization • Collaborate with data analysts, BI teams, and stakeholders to support reporting and analytics needs • Implement best practices for data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and data governance • Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues in production environments Required Skills & Experience • Strong experience as a Data Engineer • Hands-on expertise with Azure Synapse Analytics • Advanced SQL skills, including performance tuning and query optimization • Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL/ELT frameworks • Experience with Azure data services such as: • Azure Data Factory (ADF) • Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS) • Azure SQL • Ability to work independently in a remote C2C engagement Nice to Have • Experience with Power BI or other Microsoft BI tools • Exposure to big data technologies within Azure • Prior experience with enterprise-scale data platforms About Chabez Tech Delivering data engineering and AI products to help you achieve operational and customer excellence.
