Data Engineer

Data Engineer (Denodo) - SC Cleared Sanderson Government & Defence Sanderson Government & Defence is supporting a major UK public sector programme and is seeking an experienced Data Engineer with strong Denodo expertise to join a high-performing delivery team. This is a client-facing role within a dynamic data services environment, requiring excellent communication skills, a proactive mindset, and strong commercial awareness. You will play a key role in delivering data integration solutions across multiple connected systems, supporting large-scale migration and transformation initiatives. Key Responsibilities • Work within a client-facing team to deliver base and integration views across multiple systems • Design, build, and optimise data pipelines to support migration activities • Develop and maintain automated solutions, including code creation and testing • Perform complex data transformations using appropriate programming languages • Ensure performance, scalability, and security of data solutions Essential Skills & Experience • Strong hands-on experience with Denodo, including: • Virtual Data Bases (VDBs) • Performance optimisation and tuning • Query delegation techniques • Caching strategies • Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) • Proven ability to work in client-facing environments • Strong communication skills and a proactive, delivery-focused approach • Good commercial awareness Desirable Skills • Experience using Jira and Confluence • Understanding of legacy data warehouse environments within large organisations Additional Information • Location: Hybrid working, with occasional on-site workshops (typically a few days per month) in either Telford or Hove • Security Clearance: Active SC clearance (or transferable clearance from another UK government department) is required This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a high-impact government programme while working with modern data technologies in a collaborative environment.
