Senior Data Engineer (NYC) Hybrid
We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer based in New York to act as a key local point of contact while being fully integrated into a global Data Platform team.
This Role Is Critical To
• Support data platform convergence initiatives
• Ensure business continuity
• Bridge local business needs with global platform standards
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Data Platform Engineering Manager, you will contribute to both delivery and leadership of the data platform transformation.
You Will Be Responsible For
• Designing and implementing scalable data pipelines and models
• Ensuring reliability, performance, and maintainability of the platform
• Acting as the primary technical liaison for local teams in NYC
• Aligning local needs with global data standards and architecture
• Supporting the migration of legacy systems to the new shared platform
Missions
Engineering
• Develop and optimize ELT/ETL pipelines (batch & streaming)
• Implement layered data models (Bronze / Silver / Gold)
• Contribute to industrialization, CI/CD, monitoring, and observability
• Ensure platform performance, cost efficiency, and resilience
Convergence & Migration
• Support the migration of data domains and dashboards to the new platform
• Help translate legacy models into updated standards
• Collaborate on prioritization and delivery of convergence milestones
Business Partnership & Local Leadership
• Act as the main technical contact for stakeholders (Analytics, Product, Engineering)
• Understand business processes and translate them into data solutions
• Facilitate workshops and technical discussions with local teams
• Ensure smooth knowledge sharing across global teams
• Help drive adoption of the new data platform locally
Technical Environment
• Cloud & Infrastructure: AWS, Snowflake
• Data Processing: Spark, Kafka, Snowpark
• Languages: Python, SQL, Scala
• Architecture: Distributed systems, APIs, microservices
• DevOps: CI/CD, monitoring, observability
Profile
Experience
• 6+ years experience in Data Engineering or Analytics Engineering
• Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake and cloud data platforms
• Experience designing scalable, production-grade data architectures
• Experience in data migrations or platform transformations is a strong plus
• Experience working closely with business stakeholders
Skills
• Strong SQL and Python skills
• Solid understanding of data modeling, lineage, and governance
• Ability to balance delivery with architecture thinking
• Comfortable working across multiple teams and time zones
Soft Skills
• Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions
• Ownership mindset and autonomy
• Pragmatic, solution-oriented, and collaborative
• Comfortable acting as a bridge between local and global teams
• French language skills are a strong plus, as you will collaborate regularly with global teams.
