Data Engineer - Confluent / Kafka - Outside IR35 Rate: Negotiable Location: Remote / Hybrid options Contract: 6 to 8 months Looking for a Contract Data Engineer to build a Kafka / Confluent-based workflow supporting RTBF requests across a large consumer technology environment. The business already has Confluent infrastructure in place. The focus is on building a reliable streaming system that takes requests from Jira, sends deletion messages to around 30 systems containing customer data, receives responses, and logs outcomes into BigQuery. What you’ll be doing • Building Kafka / Confluent streams for RTBF deletion workflows • Sending and receiving messages across multiple enterprise systems • Logging system responses into BigQuery • Working with Data Governance, Data Platform and Streaming Platform teams • Helping downstream system owners integrate with the process • Designing the workflow so new systems can be added easily What we’re looking for • Strong Kafka / Confluent experience • Experience building event-driven data pipelines • Background working across multiple enterprise systems • BigQuery or GCP experience useful • Data governance, GDPR or RTBF experience beneficial Tech: Kafka, Confluent, BigQuery, Jira, GCP Rate negotiable, Outside IR35.
