Data Engineer / Contract / Hybrid / Iselin, NJ

Our client, a global banking and financial services leader, is hiring for a contract Software Developer - SQL. This is a hybrid role with 2 days onsite per week in Iselin, NJ. This individual will work on a data platform supporting multiple domains/lines of business using SQL, Python and Google Cloud. Will be responsible for building data pipelines in order to take data from upstream applications and send it downstream to the end users. Contract Duration: 24 Months, Potential to Convert to Full-Time Responsibilities: • Consult on or participate in moderately complex initiatives and deliverables within Software Engineering and contribute to large-scale planning related to Software Engineering deliverables. • Review and analyze moderately complex Software Engineering challenges that require an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. • Contribute to the resolution of moderately complex issues and consult with others to meet Software Engineering deliverables while leveraging solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements. • Collaborate with client personnel in Software Engineering. Required Skills: • 4+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work or consulting experience, training, military experience, education. • 5-8 years engineering experience • 6 years of SQL experience • Python • Experience with large data volumes, experience with data modeling and data design Desired Skills: • 1-2 years of cloud technology, preferably Google Cloud • Agile background • Dynamic individual, able to pick up new tasks quickly and take initiative
