Data Engineer (Contract) - Remote First

Buy-Side Investment Management | Competitive Day Rate | Remote First We’ve partnered with a specialist UK-based buy-side consultancy supporting a major investment management firm in Abu Dhabi who are looking to hire an experienced Databricks Data Engineer on an initial 12-month contract. This is a hands-on engineering role with a strong focus on Databricks, sitting close to investment teams, quants and business users. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, building and operating data pipelines and lakehouse architectures on Databricks that power analytics, reporting and downstream applications across the business. You’ll work end-to-end across the data lifecycle - ingesting market and investment data, modelling and transforming it within Databricks, and ensuring datasets are reliable, optimised and production-ready. Engineers in this environment are expected to have a deep understanding of Databricks and modern data engineering principles, and to proactively design scalable solutions rather than simply executing tickets.
